Tough Talks
Thriving in a Performance Driven Culture with Tweens & Teens
Sunday, October 7, 2019
5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
We have noticed that tweens, teens, and parents are stressed out, maxed out, burned out.
You might be one of them.
We are excited to welcome parents, students, and their friends for an evening to discovery, laughter, and discussion with Heather Choate Davis.
Heather Choate Davis is an author, speaker, liturgist, creator of The Renaissance Service TM , and co-founder of icktank. In 1994, she came to faith at a Lutheran church where her son had just started Kindergarten: her conversion story is told in the book Baptism by Fire. In 2013, she received her Master of Arts in Theology from Concordia University in Irvine. She speaks on a wide range of topics that serve the Church: on Man Turned in On Himself; on freeing Loaded Words from their baggage (based on the co- authored book); on losing the gift of vocation to a transcript-driven world (Elijah and the SAT); on using the first psalm to as a way of discussing happiness with young adults, (Happy are Those); and on Resurrecting the Priesthood of all Believers. Heather was just re-elected to a second term on the Board of Directors of the PSW District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
